Thom Luz was invited to the festival Theaterformen Hannover with his debut as a director, Patience Camp (2009). Since then, Luz has worked both freelance and by invitation at theatre houses and as a house artist at the Theater Basel. He is also currently working at the Residenztheater München. He received the Operadagen Rotterdam Award for the idiosyncratic stamp he puts on contemporary music theatre. His work focuses strongly on perception and apparent details, allowing the mundane and universal to be expressed in distinct forms. In 2018, a retrospective at the Biennale Teatro Venice was dedicated to him and in 2019 he received the Swiss Theatre Prize. Girl from the Fog Machine Factory had its Belgian premiere at DE SINGEL in 2019. When I Die, a ghost story with music played at NTGent in 2021. www.thomluz.ch
