Sien Eggers (b. 1951) studied drama at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. She performs extensively in theatre, but also appears frequently in television series and films.
She began her career at the Mechels Miniatuurtheater and was associated with the KVS in Brussels for 16 years, where she was involved in a wide range of productions including De Blauwe Maarschalk, De misantroop, Oedipus, Freuds laatste droom, Andromache and Diplodocus Deks.
She subsequently starred for three seasons in the monologue You Are My Mother (Het Paleis) and also appeared in Armandus de zoveelste, De tocht van de olifant and Wit is altijd schoon from Het Paleis.
Very recently, she performed alongside Frank Focketyn in the production Sartre en de Beauvoir.
In 1992, she received the Flemish Culture Prize for Theatre for her role as daughter Sonja in the Arca production Derniers Détails. In 1999, she was awarded the VSCD Colombina Theatre Prize for Best Supporting Actress of the Season in De cocu magnifique oftewel de wonderbaarlijke hoorndrager at Toneelhuis.
Sien appears frequently in all manner of television series, including Meester hij begint weer, Liegebeest, In de gloria, Het eiland, Eigen kweek, Het Programma van Wim Helsen, and De Slimste Mens ter Wereld. In Van vlees en bloed she played the role of butcher's wife Liliane Verstappen, for which she received the Flemish Television Star for Best Actress in 2010.
She has also played roles in films including Iedereen beroemd!, Onder de wolken, De Indringer and Linkeroever.
