Ariane van Vliet, (b. The Hague 1971) graduated in 1993 from Studio Herman Teirlinck, now known as the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp - Acting.
After graduating, she continued to live and work in Belgium, becoming a regular actress at Het Toneelhuis in Antwerp. She played leading roles in plays by Luk Perceval including Ten Oorlog, Franciska, Oom Vanya, Andromak, Mac Beth, and later in works by Guy Cassiers including Onegin, Mefisto Forever, and Atropa.
She starting freelancing a few years ago, and now performs with various companies in Belgium, including Het Arsenaal/Lazarus, NTGent, Theatre Malpertuis, Compagnie Cecilia, Hetpaleis, and ITA. Last season, she performed in Lazarus's Crime and Punishment and in the play Faust at De Maan.
She has also appeared in various TV series, including Professor T, Code 37, Albatros, Callboys, Witse, and the Dutch series DNA. She performed in the international series Baptiste and Hidden Assets. Recently, she has appeared in films by Tim Mielants: Patrick and The Forgotten Battle.
She also appeared in the Dutch film Apollo.
In addition, she writes and directs shows for both children and adults. Together with her colleague Alice Reijs, she created Ans en Wilma Verdwaald, Ans en Wilma Gestrand, Concertantes, and De Hondenwei, and wrote Ans en Wilma naar de Maan.
She also wrote a children's book Fien en Pip, de Allerleukste dag, which was published by De Eenhoorn.
