Balcaen Ferenc, a theater maker, graduated from the Drama - Directing program at Ritcs in Brussels in 2022. In 2021, he participated in the Platform In De Maak festival in Leuven and the Par Hasard - Groot Begijnhof Edition festival in Ghent. In 2021, together with Alia Rifai and Juan Cruzz Cizmar, he created the performance Pheasant (visual, physical), exploring the theme of gender. In 2022, he graduated with the performance Tristis, inspired by Jheronimus Bosch's The Garden of Earthly Delights. In 2023, he served as a director's assistant to Aïda Gabriëls for the opera Cambio Madre, composed by Frank Nuyts, which premiered at the Gent Festival in Muziekcentrum De Bijloke. In 2024, he collaborates on the production Joy Boy, a tribute to Jules Eastman, a partnership between Collectif faire-part and S.E.M Ensemble, premiering at DE SINGEL on January 19, 2024. In April 2024, his performance SCAPEGOAT premieres at DE SINGEL during the CARTA festival.
