A leading figure of the French ballroom scene, Lasseindra Ninja helped establish Paris as a European capital of voguing, a dance born in the Black LGBTQ+ community in the 1970s United States. For her, voguing is a space of empowerment and freedom, where identity, power, vulnerability, and social struggles intersect.
Based in Paris for over a decade, the dancer and choreographer has organized major balls and created performances combining dance, digital arts, and reflections on the body and its collective memories. A European pioneer, founder of the Eurasian chapter of the House of Ninja, and honored as a “Legend” within the international ballroom community, she now collaborates with prestigious institutions such as the Centre National de la Danse and the Ballet National de Marseille.
