From a young age, Adja always tried to understand the deeper layers within herself and others. She studied theatre at KASK in Ghent between 2012 - 2015, afterwards travelling to India and Nepal to understand the practice of a ritual. She returned to Belgium to channel her love for storytelling and her fascination for rituals and ceremonies, into her jazz-studies at the Leuven Conservatory. There, she decided that her instrument - the voice - would become her central building block for her future creations, merged with theatrical and ceremonial elements. During her studies, she admitted her first compositions to the prestigious Soundtrack competition for young talents in Flanders and won the finals in 2021 on the stage of Ancienne Belgique.
