Lena Mariën (b. 1998) is a costume and textile designer based in Brussels. In 2021, she gained a Master's in Textile Design in Ghent, and in 2023, a Master's in Costume Design from the Academy of Antwerp. She completed an internship at KVS as an assistant to costume designer Sietske van Aerde. Since then, they have worked closely together on a regular basis.
Drawing on her background in textile design, her costumes are always rooted in rigorous research into craftsmanship, material, and texture. She has worked for/collaborated with Barbara T’Jonck, KVS, Malpertuis, Laurens Aneca, Colette Goossens, Stan Martens, Voetvolk, Silly Symphonies Theatre, Bavo Buys, Maliqa Fye, and Table Dance, among others.
