Romain Dayez is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and the Paris National Conservatory of Music. He has performed around fifty roles, primarily operatic, under the baton of conductors such as Marc Minkowski, David Reiland, Paul Daniel and Hervé Niquet.
In 2015, he met Hélène Delavault and gradually developed a passion for musical theatre and operetta, which he has performed at venues including the Théâtre Marigny, Petit Palais, Théâtre de l’Athénée, Théâtre du Châtelet, Salle Gaveau, Folies Bergère, and the Palais des Congrès in Paris, mainly with ensembles such as Les Frivolités Parisiennes, Musiques Nouvelles, Les Brigands, and the Palazzetto Bru Zane.
Deeply interested in contemporary music and interdisciplinary artistic collaborations, he has taken part in around thirty world premieres. Through these projects, he has worked with composers such as Philippe Boesmans, Kaija Saariaho, Guillaume Connesson, John Rutter, and Graciane Finzi, and has participated in a wide variety of performances, notably at the Paris Opera, the Louvre, the Palais de Tokyo, the Venice Biennale, and Radio France with the Orchestre National de Jazz.
He has been artist-in-residence at the Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne since 2019, and was invited to the 2019 Nuit de la Voix of the Orange Foundation as well as the 2020 Victoires de la Musique Classique. He is the artistic director of Rapt Invisible, a company combining sacred singing and electronic music.
