Wouter Deltour is a pianist and musical theatre maker. In 2016, together with director Tom Goossens, he embarked upon Don Juan, a Dutch-language adaptation of Mozart and Molière, which succeeded in reaching a wide audience. This collaboration led to the foundation of DESCHONECOMPANIE, where they created THE DAPONTE TRILOGY, comprising Don Juan, Così and Le Nozze, in which opera and musical theatre converge. With their accessible operatic adaptations, they perform in Flemish cultural centres and at international festivals.

As a maker, he is interested in bringing together a variety of musical profiles, allowing them to collide until new forms are created. In his work, acoustic and electronic music converge to create a new idiom. He enjoys making conceptual reinterpretations of classical music, in which he adds his own compositions. In this free approach, he has collaborated with figures including Jesse Kanda, Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe, Olympique Dramatique and Finn Ronsdorf. Last year he made his own adaptation of Schubert’s Winterreise as an artist-in-residence at Muziektheater Transparant.
