Carine van Bruggen (°1989, Pulmerend) grew up in Heerlen, South Limburg. After high school she spent several years in Amsterdam, where she did a Bachelor course in Theatre Studies and Classical Languages. In 2013 she enrolled for a Bachelor course in Drama at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, from which she successfully graduated with the performance Claire Obscure, which she created and performed in, in collaboration with Eleonore Van Godtsenhoven and Timo Sterckx and under the direction of Willem de Wolf.

She is now doing the Master course in Drama at the KASK, where in 2018 she will create and perform the graduation piece for her Master’s degree, again with Eleonore Van Godtsenhoven. In 2017, as a trainee in stage production, she was involved in the performance Vanish Beach by the Hof van Eede theatre collective. She is also performing in The Big Data Trilogy # 1Hollow by the playField collective and is involved in part two of the trilogy # 2Bias, both as a performer and creator. In addition, she plays the part of Donna Elvira in Don Juan by Tom Goossens and DESCHONECOMPANIE.
