Jan Sobrie (b. 1979) is a Belgian actor, director and playwright. He graduated from the DRAMA department at the RITCS in Brussels in 2002. 

Jan Sobrie was already working with BRONKS, KVS, Hetpaleis, VictoriaDeluxe, ARSENAAL/LAZARUS, Theater ARTEMIS, Nationaal Toneel, KOPERGIETERY, Laika, MartHatentatief, Theater Antigone, Compagnie Cecilia, Theater Der Junge Welt, Schauspielhaus Zürich and Grand Théâtre de Genève, among others. 

For television he has made guest appearances in Aspe, Vermist, Flikken and Witse, and played a leading role in the drama series Zuidflank (VTM). 

He has won a variety of prizes both in Belgium and abroad. His plays Zolderling (2003), Titus (2006) and Fimosis (2006) were selected for the Theaterfestival. In 2009 he was nominated for the Vlaamse Cultuurprijs for his youth theatre work. In 2010 he won SABAM’s Gouden Klaproos for his work as a playwright. Bekdichtzitstil was nominated for the Nederlands Theater Festival in 2014 and won the Zilveren Krekel. The performance Woestzoeker, which he wrote and created together with Raven Ruëll was nominated for the Jugendtheaterpreis Baden-Württemberg 2020 and the German Kindertheaterpreis 2020.
