Siebe Thijs (°1999, Gent (BE)), studied composition at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp and the University of the Arts Graz (Austria) under the tutelage of Bram Van Camp, Wim Henderickx and Clemens Gadenstätter.
Siebe Thijs (b. 1999) is a composer and maker. He has been commissioned to compose music for I SOLISTI, Flanders Symphony Orchestra, Muziektheater Transparant, Zonzo Compagnie, Musica, Muziekzomer Gelderland, Strings&Noise (AT) and Kunsthalle Mannheim (DE), among others.
In recent years, his work has been performed in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Sweden and Luxembourg. Fascinated by sound and its accompanying layers of meaning, but simultaneously also by social themes, time and time again in his work he questions the role of the instrument, the human body and their interrelationships.
Alongside writing music for the concert hall, he focuses on creating interdisciplinary projects such as installations and musical theatre.
Siebe studied composition at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp and the Kunstuniversität Graz (Austria) under Bram Van Camp, Wim Henderickx and Clemens Gadenstätter.
