Louis Verlinde (b. 1998) completed his master’s in fashion at KASK in Ghent in 2023 and has already been working for several years as a fashion and costume designer.

He is a member of the Ghent theatre collective Camping Sunset and did costume design for Happiness (2020), Ten Oorlog I, II, III (2021), We spelen alleen als het sneeuwt (2022) and Tillsammans (2023). He has designed costumes for Wildernis (Laika), Paris Was A Woman (Bibi van Lieshout & Khalid Koujili El Yakoubi) and Hertenleer (Kolifokkers), among others. His most recent production is Schemer with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, which premiered in November 2023. For this production, he designed more than 100 costumes for 70 non-professional actors from Antwerp, Ghent and Mechelen. In 2024 he is again collaborating with the French director Maëlle Dequiedt, Lisi Estaràs, Tom Goossens and Gina Beuk.

In his own artistic practice, he has fashion, costume and theatre go hand in hand. His master’s project BROKEBACK SHITSHOW was performed at Love at first sight #8 in the Toneelhuis in Antwerp. Louis’ working method is centred around intuition, accessibility and lots of trash.
