Two actors, two singers, a pianist and a violinist. Based on Mozart’s opera Così fan tutte (The school for lovers) they organise an experiment in which they go in search of possible freedom within a love relationship.

Two actors, two classical singers, a pianist and a violinist discuss the existence of eternal fidelity. Don Alfonso, philosopher and pianist, maintains that the four young lovers cannot remain faithful to each other. The two couples require evidence to the contrary and so set up an experiment together with him. In her turn, Despina, the chamber maid and violinist, acquaints the women with free love. Does the result prove Don Alfonso right? And more to the point: is it possible to structure love?

DESCHONECOMPANIE aims to make opera accessible to a broad audience by means of a narrative theatre idiom, opening up the genre, playful dressing up, hushed arias and impressive ensemble passages. Così is based on Mozart’s opera Così fan tutte (The School for Lovers).
