OTION (Guillermo Armand Blinker) is an MC, singer/songwriter, spoken word poet, dancer and choreographer based in Amsterdam, with an academic background in musical theater and contemporary dance.
Inspired by hip hop culture, jazz and neo soul music, indigenous spiritual practices and his Afro Surinamese (West African) roots, he finds himself standing in the middle of the ancestral and the futuristic as he aims to create magic in the moment.
His performances organically blend dance, live music, sung and spoken word with a strong emphasis on storytelling, His recent works address spirituality and black queer identity through ceremonial performances.
