The soloists ensemble Kaleidoscop was founded in 2006 by cellist Michael Rauter and conductor Julian Kuerti. Their goal was to explore new kinds of concert performances. Today, the Berlin based chamber orchestra is famous far beyond their home for a series of concerts, musical installations and music theatre productions.

Kaleidoskop's repertoire stretches from early baroque to contemporary music. They collaborate with young composers, but also with musicians from the metal, rock and electronic music scenes.

Kaleidoskop is often invited to festivals including the Weimar Arts Festival, Herrenhausen Arts Festival, Holland Festival and the Salzburg Biennale. They spent a period of time as ensemble in residence with Radialsystem V in Berlin.

In 2012, Kaleidoskop played in Norway, The Netherlands and Iceland for the first time and has since then also toured in Australia, Korea and to Amsterdam.
