A deconstructed choir concert on the Divine Feminine, freeing the archetypical Mother energy out of her Holy Mary corset.

Missa Mama Nova (literally: 'mass about the lonely mother; mass about only the mother') is a music theatre mass by multi-talent Timo Tembuyser. It focuses on the mother figure, flanked by a choir of six ‘sons’ on their way to a mature voice. In collaboration with dance legend Fumiyo Ikeda (co-founder of Rosas) as the mother of the community of performers, the performers explore the mother-son relationship as a physical act of giving and receiving, of carrying and being carried. Accompanied by a flautist, they strive towards a new Stabat Mater Gloriosa. "Missa Mama Nova is a musical performance that touches. An ode to the feminine, to life in all its softness, nuance and ambiguity." (Theatre Price Jury)

“The beautiful compositions form the backbone of the performance. Tembuyser knows how to create an overwhelming emotional resonance”
