A fresh take on Shakespeare’s tangled love story

What do you get when you mix four stellar actors with seven musicians from Casco Phil and let them loose on one of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays? A Midsummer Night’s Dream is reimagined by actor couples Koen De Graeve & Ariane Van Vliet and Peter Van den Begin & Tine Reymer. With its key elements such as love at first sight, mistaken identities, jealousy and heartfelt reconciliations, this 1600s classic still hits close to home. Director Tom Goossens took on the original script and crafted his own contemporary, bold interpretation, while Benjamin Haemhouts arranged the music for this adaptation.

This Midsummer Night’s Dream is more than just a play. It’s also the story of the performers themselves: actors and musicians on tour, backstage and onstage, swept up in the chaos of the show they’re performing. The theatre, the dressing rooms, and the foyer all become part of this creation that will make you laugh out loud and wipe away a tear.
