Atypical Chastening Iconic Charismatic Experiment. This is the youth opera for 2020.
The annual international youth opera is the perfect opportunity for musicians, singers and other talented musical performers to learn more about every aspect of music theatre. The project provides an excellent occasion to grow in developing musical talent in a professional setting.
This two-week training period is with coaching from the Belgian pianist, singer and composer An Pierlé, the Italian stage director Luigi De Angelis, the French bassist Brice Soniano and the drummer Caspar Van de Velde. The video artist Andrea Argentieri and costume designer Ruby Renteurs turn the whole show into a visual gem.
For A.L.I.C.E., inspiration was taken from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Alice’s adventures are transformed into a musical journey behind the scenes of a peculiar experimental dream. Curious creatures are called together to play dreamlike music live: Queens, Caterpillars, Duchesses, Hatters, White Rabbits, Griffins, Cheshire Cats, Dodos, Mock Turtles etc.
