An unseen glitzy version of Paul Van Ostaijen's classic, adapted to  a corona context, for spoken word, mezzo-soprano & prepared piano.

An unusually glitzy version of Paul van Ostaijen’s classic, adapted for the coronavirus context, for spoken voice, mezzo soprano & prepared piano. Via co-creation, van Ostaijen’s Holle Haven grew into a slam 2.0 performance that brings together spoken word and contemporary classical music, and sounds like a jam session around a grand piano (played by Lies Colman and Annelies Van Parys), in which Els Mondelaers gives a voice to van Ostaijen, and Gaea Schoeters pulls him into the present. Together they sketch a picture of the pandemic’s impact on our lives. From the loneliness of separated lovers during quarantine to the abrupt shutdown of tourism and the economy, from having to die alone, to the insatiable hunger for touch and caged desires.
