The much harder truth that inspired the movie The Sound of Music forms the basis of this modern musical.

This production takes us behind the scenes of The Sound of Music. Maria Augusta Von Kutschera, the nun made famous by Julie Andrews, lived a life that was in reality much harder. Orphaned at an early age, she suffered abuse and illness, became an atheist and eventually travelled as a missionary to Papua New Guinea. This modern musical contrasts the ideal world of the film - a perfect Salzburg, beauty, harmony and light - with the altogether much darker realities of every day living in a story bursting with passion and a stubborn lust for life.
