A theatrical mass: a composition for a male body, a five-part female choir and a man with an electric guitar.
A musical landscape in which the wandering man searches for connection and unity, redemption and ecstasy. A choreography for voices and bodies. It is both a choral concert and a ritual: an attempt to create a sanctuary in which the performers invite the audience to reflect on faith and religion, individual and collective, sin, sexuality and love.
Timo Tembuyser graduated in 2019 as a performer of the Toneelacademie in Maastricht and he is also trained as a singer at the Rotterdam Conservatoire. For this performance he invited singers/performers to create an intimate space in which his fascination for choral music and the theatrical power of 'the encounter' meet.
With Missa Homo Sacer Timo Tembuyser presents his first Translab project for Muziektheater Transparant.
