Everything we do is music. John Cage changed musical norms forever and enhanced music history with his own poetry of freedom, coincidence, emptiness and silence.

In Listen to the silence, the building blocks of this philosophy create a playful world inhabited by untameable objects, in which an actor and a pianist whisk you off on a journey of discovery through the everyday. On the way, you discover how magical your environment is if you learn to listen to the train driving by, the clock ticking and the birds singing. And how you can be the creator of a sound carpet or, with a single gesture, became a sound artist. An interactive performance that blurs the boundaries of time and space and lets the imagination run wild.

Listen to the silence won the international YAMA Award as most innovative and creative music performance for children in 2012 and the European YEAH! Award as performance of the year in 2013.

"Intriguing and radical". (De Standaard, 31 October 2011)

"An original, creative soundscape within an exciting and interactive performance that is much more than mere ‘the merchandising of music for fun’. ‘Listen to the Silence’ is a very innovative approach to the discovery of contemporary music and the works of John Cage, with which the young audience is made aware of the importance of sounds". (Jeunesses Musicales International)

"It is one of the most beautiful concerts for children that I have ever seen. Many and beautiful music, a good actor, a beautiful theme, interesting content and absolutely not infantile, also very pleasant for adults, informative but not too educative, a splendid theater image, and also technically perfect as to light, sound and image". (Anoek Diepenbroek – Concertgebouw aan het IJ, Amsterdam)
