A sensory Extended Reality experience in which movement, music, and technology merge

Conversations is a sensory XR experience in which movement, music, and technology merge. Through the use of Extended Reality (XR), physical and digital worlds flow seamlessly into one another. Light and sound stretch and blur the boundaries of tangible space.

A physical performer appears. The virtual space unfolds. Spectators are invited to move, to mirror themselves and each other. Through small gestures and subtle shifts in body language, Conversations explores the connection between our personal and collective experiences and the ways in which we share them. How do we come to know ourselves better through encounters with others? Set to the sounds of Belle qui tiens ma vie by Antoine Arbeau, Conversations unfolds as a hybrid performance about curiosity, connection, and the search for oneself in a multilayered world.

Paul Boereboom and Leon Rogissart develop XR performances at the intersection of performing arts, music, and extended reality. They share a fascination with human presence within digital worlds. Their previous performance, Ascension, evolved from an intimate VR installation into a large-scale, international, and collective experience. With Conversations, they continue this exploration by combining virtual and augmented reality within a single performative environment.
