Peer Gynt
after Edvard Grieg / Henrik Ibsen
Marianne Pousseur and Enrico Bagnoli's Peer Gynt is based on two of the most well-known works in the theatre and music repertoire: Ibsen's play and Edvard Grieg's orchestral suite
Here, Peer Gynt has been stripped down to two actors, a pianist and a choir of three. The production opens the shutters to theatrical possibility, using projection, light and sound to bring Peer Gynt's search of Solveig to life, resulting in a complex polyphony of image, text, music and song.
Production:
A production of Muziektheater Transparant in coproduction with Théâtre de la Balsamine & Île de France Opéra et Ballet. With the support of the French Community, performing arts department.
