Our newest youth project. How does your future city look like?

"Young people shape the city." It’s a message that resonates throughout today’s society. But what might that city look like a hundred years from now? Muziektheater Transparant and DE SINGEL are inviting a new generation of young creators to imagine the city of the future. Inspired by the visionary urban landscape in Fritz Lang’s iconic 1927 film Metropolis, set in the then-distant year of 2026, they reflect on their own environment and how it might evolve.

Now it’s their turn to reimagine tomorrow’s city. What sounds echo through its streets? Who lives there? Is it even still a place people can truly live in?

Supported by a team of professional artists, the participants shape their own performance mixing music, vocals, dance, spoken word, theatre, and whatever other art forms speak to them. It’s all about creativity, collaboration, and making space for their voices.
