Hyperion

An original musical theater production of the Italian group Muta Imago and HERMESensemble, based on the novella by Friedrich Hölderlin and music by Bruno Maderna.
Under the new TRANSLAB-label Muziektheater Transparant offers development and growth opportunities for young singers and instrumentalists. Transparant wants to focus more than ever on young people as stage artists finding their way in the world of opera and musical theatre. Projects by young creators or companies just starting out will be given a place to rehearse and to develop with Transparant as a sounding board during their quest.
Hyperion is an original musical theater production of the Italian group Muta Imago and HERMESensemble, based on the novella by Friedrich Hölderlin and music by Bruno Maderna. One man stands on the stage. He is in a world of vestiges and ruins. The world around him seems to be standing still. He gets up and examines himself in the hope of understanding who he is. What are his physical limitations? Where does his body end and the world begin? He looks up, sees a starry sky and starts to dream. Reality is on the one side, utopia on the other. The possible, the uncertain, the ground, the human instruments and bodies versus that which is complete. A man alone, trying to learn how to live by means of his utopias.
