Belgian based bassplayer Yannick Peeters started as a kid playing classical piano, but as an adolescent discovered jazz and double bass. She graduated at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in 2005, that she combined with an exchange program at the Musikhogskolan in Gothenburg.

Yannick is a woman to be treasured in jazz”, is a quote from the press. She is praised for her fragile yet powerful playing.

She recently toured with the band 22 Strings and a piece of wood with guest guitarist Jakob Bro and violaplayer Franz Loriot, and with Guillaume Vierset Harvest.

She played and recorded with various bands such as Steven Delannoye trio ‘Midnight Suite’, the Eve Beuvens trio ‘Noordzee’, Teun Verbruggen’s ‘Gowk’ and Het Zesde Metaal ‘Akkatemets’, …

She currently also teaches at the Conservatory of Ghent.
