Adams Adjetey Mensah (°1991) is a Ghanaian born - Belgian actor, writer, dancer and Filmmaker.

He started his acting career at the age of 15 in Antwerp, Belgium. In 2007, he had his debut performance in the play Genesis directed by Greet Vissers. Since then he has appeared in several plays with companies as Sering, Tutti Fratelli, kunstZ, Productiehuis Brabant, Lampekap, Muziektheater Transparant, Vlaamse Opera, Madam Fortuna …

He has worked with artists and directors such as Guy Cassiers, Jo Roets, Michael De Cock, Sabri Saad El Hamus, Neske Beks, Franz Marijnen, Reinhilde Decleir, Leen Braspenning, Wouter Van Looy, Luc Nijs …

In 2009 he approached director Greet Vissers with an idea of making a dance performance around his idol Michael Jackson. This resulted in the dance performance Ford Escort which toured in Flanders.

In 2011, Adams graduated from the ‘Stedelijk Instituut van Sierkunst en Ambachten’ with a diploma in graphic design and began his audio-visual studies at the Luca school of Arts, campus Sint-Lukas Brussels.

Adams made his debut as a director with the release of his first film Genade (Mercy) which premiered on 9th September 2011. Adams wrote and starred in the film as well. The film tells the story of how far a mother will go to protect her child.

In 2013, he worked with Werner Kolf on the youth film project Stad in Beeld from kunstZ, resulting in the short fiction film The Birthday which was screened at the Mestizo Arts Festival 2014.

In 2014, he left for Ghana to film the documentary Me a Belgian, my mother a Ghanaian, in which he tells the story about his return to Ghana in search of his sick mother. The film premiered on February 4, 2016 in Antwerp (Het Bos) and had since then been screen in both national and international festivals.

In July 2016 the documentary won the Special Jury Award and the Signis Commendation at the 19th Zanzibar International Film Festival.
